And just so you'll know why 2E replaced a period, 2E is the HEX value of an ASCII "." (or 46 Decimal).

When I import, I notice some characters seem to be replaced by code. For example =2E appears to be substituted for a period.

Do you know anyplace I can research this?

Check out using wwPOP3.

I get email press releases that I'd like to store in a memo field for future reference.

The press releases currently are delivered to a gmail account, but I could have them to any mailbox.

Anybody know how to automate extracting the email text. Photos and attachments are not necessary.

As the message suggests try running in Passive mode. There's a switch for that in the wwFtp properties.

For the compiler error make sure wconnect.h is in your path when you compile. If you still get an error make sure you set wconnect.h to be associated with the class (shouldn't be necesary - VFP should find the file in the path in VFP 9).

I'm using VFP90 with Windows Vista Business

An error i have is when i'm trying to use your code to upload a file and the error is:
200 switching to binary mode.
200 PORT command successful. Consider using PASV.
553 Could not create file.

I just bought the "West Wind Internet & Client Tools" and recent try it but i have had some problems, in the example form, i can see the folders that i have there in the FTP server and when i get inside on one of them i can see the files, then, i want to move one of them to another folder, so, the problem is right here when i look for the file i uploaded to another folder, i just found a file in the superior folder with a mixed name, this name files is the namefolder+"\"+namefile.

Somebody can help me, i hope i'm clear with my english, if not i can send some images about it.

What is the shadow copy copying?

I suspect it has something to do with files getting locked...

We were having problems with our WestWind application at the same time each morning -- from 8:18 am until 8:20 am we were getting errors like "COM Server Timed Out" and "All Servers are busy". And we were getting similar problems at 1:19 am on some days.

Turns out the problem was related to Windows Shadow Copy on our Windows 2003/R2 server, which was set for the default schedules of 7 am and noon. When I rescheduled it to 6 a.m, similar errors happened at 7:19am - still 1 hour and 19 minutes after the Shadow Copy service was scheduled.

So we changed Shadow Copy to run in the middle of the night, and there are no more user problems.

There is nothing in the event logs that points to what might be happening, or even that Shadow Copy is still running at this point. I don't need to troubleshoot any further into why this particular Microsoft product is creating problems. But it might be helpful for others who encounter similar problems.
